About Horsemen's United Association, Inc.
Horsemen's United Association was founded more than 30 years ago to protect non-profit horse clubs from lawsuits by procuring affordable spectator liability insurance for our members. Realizing that many small clubs operate on a shoestring, we made the decision to cover the cost of any deductibles incurred by our members.
We are not an insurance company. Our purpose is not to sell you insurance but to protect your club year after year so that you can enjoy equestrian sports without worrying about the costly effects of lawsuits. We currently provide our members with two membership levels. Option A provides coverage for up to $500,000 per occurance/$500,000 aggregate bodily injury and property damage liability and Option B provides $1,000,000 per occurance/$1,000,000 aggregate bodily injury and property damage liability. As part of our commitment to our clubs, we encourage safe practices that keep our members and participants safe and reduce the risk of lawsuits. Our quarterly newsletter includes information and resources to keep our clubs informed about safety and liability issues.
